Mass Effect 2

Mass effect 2 takes place in 2185. It's been two years after the original Mass Effect ended. Since the Reaper invasion has stopped and both Saren and Geth had been defeated, Commander Shephard finally figures out that the human race are starting to dissapear without warning. Commander Shephard teams up with Cerberus to start an investigation as to why the humans are disappearing. On their quest, they start recruiting a team of the most dangerous agents to help with the new attacks and defense.

In Mass Effect 2, Commander Shephard, Cerberus and the team their acquire will be visiting the Asari Colony World of Illium and Omega as well as a space mining station in Terminus System which houses the most uncivilized galactic society.

This uncivilized galactic society are very much insect-like and the main villains of Mass Effect 2. The technology they possess is Reaper-based and it's assumed that they'll be working for the Reapers. This also concludes that they are all apart of the same party that is responsible for the disappearance of the human race.

The human race are being harvested by the Reapers and the supporters for reasons that we're currently unaware of for the time being.
